Everything You Need to Know About the Bobo & Friends Natural Wine Fair
This Sunday in New Jersey, the second annual Bobo & Friends Fair returns, with all proceeds donated to local community causes.
Written by Nathan Bodenstein
Bobo & Friends is back for its second year, bringing a thoughtful mix of minimal intervention wines, small-scale producers, and local food to New Jersey right as summer (finally) hits its stride. What started as a casual, open-air gathering has grown into a reliable spot for wine professionals and curious drinkers to taste, catch up with friends, and cross paths with new people in the scene.
This year’s lineup includes wines from importers like Zev Rovine Selections, Citadella Imports, T. Edward Wines, Jenny & François, SuperGlou, Vom Boden, Skin Contact, and Electric Flower Imports, each bringing a range of wines that reflect the diversity and direction of low-intervention winemaking today.
The setting is informal by design, but that doesn’t mean the experience is any less considered. Alongside the tasting, there’ll be a generous charcuterie spread from Maplewood Wheelhouse, woodfired focaccia from Artie’s, and a limited run of screen-printed posters and commemorative glasses designed by Electric Flower Imports. Copies of Spilled: Natural Winemakers Stories & Recipes, co-authored by Zev Rovine, will also be available for sale.
All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to two local organizations: the Pinelands Preservation Alliance and the American Friends Service Committee. That’s not just a gesture, it’s a core part of the fair’s purpose. Bobo was created as a gathering rooted in values, not just aesthetics, and every dollar from attendance goes toward protecting land and supporting social justice efforts right here in New Jersey.
Whether you're in the trade or simply looking for a good bottle and better conversation, Bobo & Friends is one of the few events in New Jersey where those worlds overlap in a way that feels genuinely collaborative, not performative. Here’s what you need to know before you attend:
